What started as an independent blog showcasing NYC urban talent in 2016, Underground King Music's founder Michelene "Elle" Mallard combined all of her background work and experiences to create a rebranded powerhouse, Karaokeandvodka Productions merely four years later on UKM's birthday, January 16, 2020.
Michelene is the sole director/producer of all of her works. Michelene is known for her social justice-charged work and Black-centered narratives. As a Miles College Alumnae with a BA in Journalism, and while pursuing an MFA in film production, her goal as a creative is to tap into the eye of the storyteller, creating a candid Black wonderland, captivating audiences around the world.
