As the world braces for impending cataclysm, two women are torn between fighting for survival and accepting humanity's fate.
Back in October 2019, I reunited with writer/actress Tatjana Anders and cinematographer Jacob Schühle Lewis (with writer Petra Lang) to direct this micro-short for submission to the Light This Location 2019 cinematography competition by Aputure. Despite the minuscule budget, short turnover time, and the fact we didn't win, we are incredibly proud of the piece. You can apparently do a lot with one night in a poorly-ventilated cabin in Hertfordshire, England.
The film asks the question of whether ignorance is preferable to facing the existential dread of worldwide cataclysm. I felt this very difficult question taps into a natural desire to block out anxiety and fear, and how this can be used by those in power to control society.
