Like Buses (Short film)
Can unlikely pair, Micky and Jules, break the cycle of their unfulfilling liaisons by looking beyond their preconceptions to see what’s right in front of them.
MICKY (30s) finds herself at a rundown bus stop early in the morning, unsure how to get home, she seeks the help of JULES (70s). Jules is concerned with the proportions of Micky’s purse. Whilst Micky assumes Jules was out for an early shop before getting home to her husband, Jules assumes Micky was out on the pull last night. They soon realise their preconceptions about one another were very wrong! Micky and Jules discover they both need stimulating company and that can be found in each other.
Jules is wise, independent, and unafraid to speak her mind. Beneath her composed demeanor lies a vibrant and adventurous spirit. Her interactions reveal empathy and a deep understanding of life's nuances.
We're looking for actors who identify as BME specifically those who are over the age of 70 years old. The age is an important part of the representation that we are trying to achieve with this project.
As a character driven static short, we are looking for an actor who can convey the depth of emotion and reaction needed to drive the plot.
Fee is approximate (see budget) and is inclusive of workshops prior to filming (estimates to be one day for each) Filming will very likely in Bournemouth, UK (tbc)
