Screenwriter based by the sea, obsessed with breaking down stories across film, audio, and stage. I’ve a Master’s, teach script techniques, host podcasts, and adjudicate plays. Oh, and I’m powered by cake and curiosity!
Based in the South West, I'm a scriptwriter passionate about immersive storytelling across several mediums including audio and stage, but mostly I write for screen.
I've a Masters in script and screen writing, have completed a course with John Yorke in Script Editing, host podcasts analysing screenwriting, film and TV (including adaptations from books/stage) with The Script Department, adjudicate plays for The Somerset Fellowship of Drama, Short + Sweet Yorkshire and the Cornwall Film Festival, provide script development workshops for the BFI via Somerset Film, teach feedback and screenwriting techniques at Falmouth University for MA students, and provide Creative Consultancy.
As you can probably tell, I love picking things apart to understand how it works, and this feeds into my writing with synergy. I particularly enjoy giving back by supporting other writers as I have been supported. I've been shortlisted for The Network 2024 (awaiting the out come of the final round).
My favourite genres are high concept, drama, period, and comedy. I love to watch sci-fi and psychological thrillers, though I haven't felt compelled to write in these genres (yet!) And do love period dramas. Some of the things I've watched lately and loved is 'Severance' 'Trying' (both AppleTV+) and 'The Responder' (BBC)
I live by the sea, and love to swim and paddleboard, walk my collies in the woods near my house, and I love to eat cake!
