More on projectHide project details

I have many advanced skills as a Costume Maker, including specialist areas such as: millinery, tailoring, embellishment, leatherwork and leather moulding, fitting and measuring for garments, and my always developing garment construction abilities.During my studies, I have developed my skills in millinery, something I am very grateful to have had the chance to practice as it isn't a very common skill amongst graduates. I have worked with a variety of different hat making materials and methods, including hand blocking buckram and sinamay crowns and brims, blocking and stiffening felt hats, and designing, creating and embellishing flat pattern hats.I have advanced tailoring knowledge and skills, which I can turn my hand to if ever necessary, either it being for repairs on set or for creating/sourcing tailored pieces for costumes. My embellishment skills are at an excellent standard, with hand-done work being one of my absolute strengths and something I have developed incessantly over my three years of study. I have advanced skills in hand embroidery, machine embroidery, free machine embroidery, beading, gold work, and more niche, couture methods, like creating three dimensional fabric flowers, as an example.
