I am a Bristol-based composer whose music spans a variety of genres, from contemporary classical to electroacoustic to film music, and I am particularly interested in cross-platform immersive, and atmospheric art.
Natasha Sofla is a Bristol-based composer with a BMus from the University of Birmingham, and an MA in Composition for Film and Television from the University of Bristol. Her music spans a variety of genres, from contemporary classical to electroacoustic to film music, and she is particularly interested in cross-platform and immersive art. Natasha’s recent commissions include works for the City of Bristol Choir and the Bristol Ensemble, and the French contemporary music festival Turbulences Sonores. In addition, her music has been featured in concerts by Birmingham Electroacoustic Sound Theatre (BEAST), Collective31, and Bristol University Loudspeaker Orchestra (BULO). In terms of media composition, Natasha has experience scoring short films and video games, and one of these films (This Land) has been selected for the International Wildlife Film Festival in 2020. Natasha is currently working on an electroacoustic commission for Collective31 based on Bach’s St Matthew Passion, as well as a video game and short film. Her works have been performed across the UK and Europe. Natasha is also the co-founder and Artistic Director of Festival Fresco, and wishes to provide a platform for young and emerging musicians, with a particular focus on innovation and inclusivity in contemporary music.
