Workshop
Bring your scripts, talent, skills, and expertise to develop projects in collaboration with other creatives.
scriptLab is a low cost monthly event bringing together film / TV / theatre professionals and emerging talent to workshop new material and explore the possibilities for production.
If you want to:
- workshop a new idea
- test run some scripted materials
- hear your script performed
- engage with other creatives
- connect with a community of creatives as friends or potential collaborators
- develop or enhance your practice
- receive professional feedback
Then please join us in a safe, supportive space. We meet on the last Sunday of the month.
You’re welcome to participate as a writer, actor, director or producer. Or you can just come along and watch.
Scripts & Writers
Use this link to upload any script/s you wish to be workshopped to our DropBox folder. You don't need a DropBox account to do this. This link remains consistent for all scriptLabs.
The deadline for uploading scripts is end of Wednesday 23rd October. We'll then select scripts and assign a director to each prior to the event to ensure the maximum developmental potential for each project. (Regular scriptLab attendees please note: This is a change compared to previous scriptLabs, we're formalising and tightening things up a little.)

FAQ
Can I submit screenplays for film and TV, or is it just for stage plays?
Both are welcome! Whether you have a stage play, a film, or a TV script, you can submit your work for consideration.
Do we get assigned a director, and how does the session work?
Yes, depending on the group that day we will try our best to assign a director. Generally, we break out into smaller groups, with each group assigned a director to work through the script. After that, we come together to perform at the end of the session. However, we're flexible and adapt to the size and dynamics of the group.
Do we perform the whole script or just an extract?
We recommend submitting around 10 pages, which is the ideal length for the session.
Are scripts deleted after the event?
Absolutely! All scripts are deleted from the DropBox once the event concludes.
Biscuits!
We provide tea, coffee and biscuits. Please bring a cup with you.
We run an honesty box to contribute to refreshments so bring any loose change you may have if you can contribute.
