Learn to make stop-motion films on your smartphone!
Stop motion animation workshop taught by Director and Animator, Dr Nigel Smith!
Taking place at Pithay Studios in Bristol, this workshop is an ideal beginners' crash course for learning the art of Stop Motion animation.
The session is open to all ages and levels of experience, including seasoned filmmakers learning a new skill or kids and parents interested in being introduced to animation for the first time.

Running Order:
10:00 - Intro
The introduction to the session, the timetable and what we'll be doing today.
10:15 - Props & Planning
In this stage, we'll be creating storyboards, our characters as well as props and scenery.
11:00 - Short Break
11:15 - Action!
We begin animating our films, giving motion to the characters that we have created.
11:45 - 12:00 - The Red Carpet
We hold our micro-film show! Showcasing our creations and getting feedback.

Dr Nigel Smith is an Animator & Director based in Bristol, UK. Alongside the Stop Mo Studios team, Dr Smith has made numerous animated shorts, primarily focused on health and the environment and run a series of educational workshops to bring more people into animation.
Daniel Poulter Workshop Lead
2D Animator/Rigger, Illustrator and Editor. Originally from Thame and currently working in Bristol; very determined to create new and exciting content and is always up for a new challenge.
