Ronit Meranda is a film editor (Avid, Adobe Premiere), writer/director and former artist working in Bristol and London. Her background in video art passionately informs her work, lending an approach that makes space for experimentation.

Ronit grew up in Istanbul, Turkey. Being interested both in arts and films she moved to London in 2004 to do a BA in Fine Arts at Chelsea College of Art and Design where she discovered and pursued the art of making videos.

Since then she has worked on various fiction and documentary films in Europe and Africa. She has collaborated with local communities and other creative practitioners to raise social issues such as adoption, disability and domestic violence.

Her first drama short, Honeymoon (2016) is now distributed by NQV Media, and is available on Vimeo on Demand and Amazon Prime, after being screened at over twenty festivals around the world, including Encounters Short Film Festival, BFI Flare: London LGBTQ+ Film Festival, Cork Film Festival and BBC See Hear. Review here

Her short dark comedy Funeral of a Marriage Counsellor (2022) which was a finalist at the IMDb Script to Screen Awards 2016 and was selected for BFI South West Connect & Collaborate in 2020, has premiered at Palm Springs ShortFest in June 2022. Her short animation Pigeons, All!, was shortlisted for The Pitch Competition 2018. Ronit was a Raising Films writer-in-residence in 2019 where she started developing her short comedy/drama Baa, Baa (in development), which is now being produced by Candid Broads Productions.

She was also a Creative Mentor as part of the BFI Film Academy South West 2022 programme.
