In Progress
A play in two acts. A drama with comedic elements about 4 recovering addicts at different stages in their recovery.
Yellow Card is a character study of four recovering addicts. Jacob has convened them all together to put on a play his deceased wife fated him to write. But, after starting to write it, he realises he doesn't have a play and his role to facilitate the telling of their stories.
The play is being written as the audience watches and the characters play with the conventions of the theatre as the story moves on. There's mime, monologues, scenes get cut up, flipped around, but slowly the four characters are revealed as they tackle with letting go - or not, as the case may be - their demons.
The play explores abuse, addiction and the creative process.
