With life not turning out as expected, Emma’s struggles with addiction have put her on the fringes of nothing. When an encounter with an old friend sparks a drug-induced trip down memory lane, she suddenly awakes on the day of her mother’s funeral some 16 years prior. Faced with the reality of losing her mum to the same addiction that may soon consume her, can Emma convince her younger self that everything is going to be okay?
Brunette hair, fair skin. Can be older and made to look younger so don't be afraid to get in touch! We already have our older version of this character so we are looking for someone who looks similar. Really important role with some lovely scenes with other actors.
Needed for a few days of filming in two locations. Aiming to film this summer but getting our team together first and finding out everyone's availability.
Synopsis:
With life not turning out as expected, Emma’s struggles with addiction have put her on the fringes of nothing. When an encounter with an old friend sparks a drug-induced trip down memory lane, she suddenly awakes on the day of her mother’s funeral some 16 years prior. Faced with the reality that the trauma of losing her mum to the same addiction that may soon consume her has set her on the path to her current state, can Emma convince her younger self that everything is going to be okay?
Young Emma -
Up until the last month or so, Emma’s life has been picture-perfect as far as she can tell, with the cracks forming around her family unit hidden from her. Emma’s always been surrounded by adults, especially her mother, who promise her she will achieve endless success, and peers who reluctantly have to agree, although they will do anything but tell her themselves. Perhaps accidentally alienating herself at school thanks to her drive to be academically brilliant, the sudden and tragic death of Emma’s mother caused by an addiction Emma never knew her mother had has left her empty - void of the will to get out of bed let alone attend extracurricular studies. Now faced with a life without the glue that kept her whole, Emma has hidden inside her own mind and built a subconscious world where her recent trauma hasn’t hit her yet - but her desire to keep putting it off will only have heartbreaking ramifications.
