Award- winning filmmaker making ‘Shot In The Dark’ with a team of filmmaking students from UWE about Bristol’s oldest unsolved murder
I am directing an 8 minute short film ‘Shot In The Dark’ with a team of filmmaking students from University of the West of England (UWE) about Bristol’s oldest unsolved murder – the case of Robert Parrington-Jackson, the manager of the Bristol Odeon, who was shot in his office during a showing of ‘The Light That Failed’ at the cinema in 1946.
The shots on screen masked the sound of the real gunshots and no-one was ever charged for the infamous crime.
This is a story which has already created a buzz of interest in the local media. . I am determined to make this film a success and explore the intriguing tale, which not many people seem to know about.
We are looking for someone who can do 1940s style hair and make up on our actors and would love you to share this call-out with your contacts or anyone you think might be interested.
This is rather urgent as we start filming in Bristol on Monday!
We are a student team so do not have budget to pay full fees, but the job should be a lot of fun, you'll get your name in the film credits and BBC local news will be filming the making of the film on Monday (at The Raven Bar, BS1), so will be an excellent chance to showcase your work!
