Award- winning filmmaker making ‘Shot In The Dark’ with a team of filmmaking students from UWE about Bristol’s oldest unsolved murder
I am directing an 8 minute short film ‘Shot In The Dark’ with a team of filmmaking students from University of the West of England (UWE) about Bristol’s oldest unsolved murder – the case of Robert Parrington-Jackson, the manager of the Bristol Odeon, who was shot in his office during a showing of ‘The Light That Failed’ at the cinema in 1946.
The shots on screen masked the sound of the real gunshots and no-one was ever charged for the infamous crime.
This is a story which has already created a buzz of interest in the local media. . I am determined to make this film a success and explore the intriguing tale, which not many people seem to know about.
Looking for Bristol & Bath based extras to appear in a film based on Bristol’s oldest unsolved murder in 1946.
Don your best film noir style eveningwear (think trilbies & victory suits, pin-curls & tea-dresses).
This is an unpaid job (we are a student team) but should be a lot of fun AND you will get your name in the film credits!
