The Floor Is Our Indoor Ocean (2015)

This is a short film I self-produced as part of a film-making challenge for Seven/Five Productions.

During the meeting with the society and after the competition was introduced, we took part in a pick-out-of-a-hat activity where we each had to write a phrase and randomly select a phrase. Afterwards, each of us had to create a film lasting for twenty seconds and had eight weeks to produce and edit the film. Because mine was Floor Is Our Indoor Ocean, I intended to create a surreal avant-guade film which involved a bachelor, whose house is flooded by backwards plumbling, hence creating an indoor ocean.

I wrote the music via Guitar Pro 6 and filmed the footage using my JVC Everio camera. I used Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013 to edit the film. Tom Clarke, one of the members of Seven/Five Productions, provided the special effects.

The film was screened at the Phoenix theatre in Leicestershire on 15/7/2015.
