Perception (Documentary, 2016)
A short documentary exploring what blind people see
When Brian Bushway lost his sight he never stopped seeing. Instead, he learnt an entirely new version of the world he lives in, he now sees through sound. To Brian, a room sounds different in the same way a room looks different to us. While blind Brian has lost a major flaw of human nature, the visual bias. He no longer judges people on appearance but instead on what people have to say. While learning Brian's story I began posing the question to myself, how many lives have been altered forever by judgement?

At 14, my first film was a short documentary about what blind people see which was selected in the LA Film Festival. Since then I’ve been pursuing real storytelling that reveals unique perspectives that would otherwise go untold.
