We're looking for a strong screen actor to play The Man in Monster Munch, a powerful new short film directed by Alison Hargreaves (BAFTA Connect, Directors UK) for the charity Integrate UK.
This is a key supporting role with minimal dialogue, requiring a subtle, nuanced performance.
The Man is not portrayed as an exaggerated or stereotypical villain. Instead, he appears outwardly ordinary, making his behaviour all the more unsettling. Across three consecutive mornings, he silently watches a teenage girl at a bus stop, invading her sense of safety without ever directly confronting her.
The performance relies almost entirely on body language, stillness, eye contact and presence. We're looking for an actor who understands that restraint is far more powerful than overt menace.
The film intentionally challenges audiences to recognise the everyday behaviours that many women and girls experience in public spaces, making this an important and impactful role.
