Mon Plaisir (Short film)
A personal and delicate story, following the everyday existence of a married couple stuck in a routine and looking for changes.
Q and Carl are a married couple in their 30-40s, and their movements and actions have become predictable, repetitive and comfortable. When Q tries to wrap her head around her husband's nonchalance and lack of caring and sensitivity, she decides to sign them both up for a new experience- being extras on a film set. Through pretending to be other people, the couple manages to communicate for the first time in a while, but when the cameras turn off, their routine sinks back in.
Mon Plaisir is based on a short story by Miranda July.
Carl leads a life that values habit over happiness. He has grown used to and almost successfully repressed the feeling of doubt that stems from his incompetence and the incompatibility of his marriage.
Casting days- 29th+30th of November
The script contains some scenes of an intimate nature, that may involve partial nudity. We will work with you, our actors, to ensure you are comfortable and prepared for these scenes and our final edit will only show what you are happy and comfortable for us to show.
We will very happily talk this through at the audition.
