1st AD/Production Assistant required for micro budget hybrid documentary/artist film in Somerset 18-20 Aug 2026.

DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
The film will explore extinction from the reality of a world where all bird life has vanished. The narrative is centred around a sound recordist who invites three musicians to gather in their countryside house. Drawing from written reports and drawings, they speculate what sounds birds might have made, rehearse and work towards a performance of lost birdsong in an abandoned birdwatching hide in hopes of conjuring their return!
The approach will be collaborative and experimental by inhabiting a framework where all bird life has vanished. The musicians will appear on screen and the sounds they make will also form the soundtrack to the film.
Intercut with this narrative will be a parallel documentary full of birds, shot on location with the wardens of Skomer Island nature reserve in Wales (job listing doesn't cover this part of the shoot).
