Looking for an enthusiastic actor to play Kim, one of the main roles in our short horror/dark comedy, Live Bait.

'Live Bait follows 39-year-old FREYA; a charming bug collector and fishing shop owner with a severe God Complex, who copes with her oppressive marriage by imaging her patriarchal husband, DAVID, dying horrifically in manner similar to her bugs. After David asks her to give up her business and her hobby so that he can finally have a child, Freya decides to manipulate her best-friend and co-worker, KIM, against him. A series of subtle abuse implications from Freya steadily convinces Kim that David is dangerous, and in an act of panic trying to protect her friend, Kim lethally stabs David, fulfilling Freya’s violent fantasies.'

Kim is a quirky, bubbly 37-year old who lives in a small Welsh fishing town. She is Freya’s fiercely loyal best-friend, but also acts as her confidant in regard to Freya’s frustrations with her husband, David.

Kim is very bold and has quite a playful and somewhat immature sense of humour, often striving for the positive aspects of life. Because of this, she will often do her utmost best to turn a negative situation around, never resting until her loved ones are content once again.

Kim is impulsive, which can sometimes lead her into trouble. She often relies on Freya and her family to help her out of a tough spot, which reaffirms her dedication to them and their happiness, wishing to give back. Sometimes this dedication becomes blind, which can lead Kim to be unwittingly used by those she trusts. She looks up to Freya the most, valuing their relationship immeasurably, and will do anything for her.

The film is being made through the University of Gloucestershire by a diligent and hard-working team, determined to bring this ambitious idea to life. The project is expenses only, travel and food costs covered, with accommodation provided if needed.

The shoot dates would be a series of small shoots in and around Cheltenham between November 12th-15th, with an evening shoot between 16th-18th, dependent on actor availability.
