Gruesome Soap

Soap, a metaphor for something clean and pure, is usually made of etheric oils and pleasant fragrant ingredients which nourish the skin and give off a pleasent scent. Gruesome soap is different since it is made of pork offal, fat and skin and that’s what makes it quite specific, regarding the fact that a swine is widely considered as one the filthiest animals. Three old women in the Vlach village in Eastern Serbia are performing an unusual ritual in preparing “gruesome soup”.
