Khanyisile, a 25-year old woman, from rural Tsholomqa in East London, arrives in Cape Town, to start an internship at a local tour company. She meets and falls in love with an American tourist, Kevin, but they are soon parted, as the country prepares for a national lockdown and he leaves for America. Before they are sent home, the staff are all tested for Covid-19 and Khanyisile’s test comes back positive. During her period of quarantine, mourning the loss of her career, her young love and considering the devastating impact the corona-virus is having on the country, she devises ways to help children in rural areas to access educational materials.
