After a brutal clash with a rival gang leader, Freddie risks a fragile peace to rescue a kidnapped child, testing loyalty, trust, and power.
In the shadowed streets of Wales, gang leader Freddie walks a fine line between power and responsibility. When a brutal “friendly” brawl with a rival gang - The Hawks, lays bare the violent world he controls, an unexpected plea from his childhood friend Chloe forces him to risk everything to rescue a kidnapped child. Loyalties will be tested, friendships strained, and the fragile peace he’s built threatened. Futile is a high-stakes, adrenaline-fueled story of morality, trust, and the cost of doing the right thing in a world that thrives on chaos.
We have limited time on set (4–10 hours a day), so we use “prototypes” — rough versions of the film created in advance. This helps cast and crew arrive fully prepared. Actors can develop characters and ask questions early, and the crew knows exactly what shots are needed. It keeps everyone aligned on the day.
With a large-scale fight scene, this prep is essential for safety and confidence on set. We’re looking at 9 x 6-hour days: a table read/prototype, one dialogue prototype day, two fight prototype days, and five shoot days (four at UFCC, Cardiff, and one in St Mellons, Cardiff).
We know it’s a big commitment, so payment is provided, plus a £10 travel allowance for each rehearsal and shoot day. Let us know if you have any questions!
Chloe is a cunning and ambitious woman from London with a polished exterior, willing to manipulate to get what she wants. She urgently needs to rescue a kidnapped child unharmed, enlisting the Dragons as capable allies she can’t be traced through. Beneath her persuasive charm lies a dark secret.
Taekwondo training (proficiency in kicking) is preferred but not compulsory as we will be doing a 5v5 fight scene but will have an action designer on board through the prototype days.
We will be looking for self tapes and possibly in person auditions but if interested then please message through Tabb or email:

Any further questions then please don't hesitate.
