Boyfriend is a neurotic, fastidious man with little going for him in life. Boyfriend works an uninspiring job; he has never endeavoured to stand out from the crowd and would much rather plod through life and blend in than be in the spotlight. Boyfriend scoffs at bad grammar and derides other men. He takes issue with optimists and dreamers, and he has no time for people with their heads in the clouds.
Boyfriend spends most of his time in his favourite spot in his bedroom: at his desk, on his computer. When he is not consuming online content, playing digital Sudoku, or leaving unhelpful answers to questions on digital forums, you’ll find him spending his time cleaning up after his messy significant other, who, no matter how many times he has asked her, fails to respect his space enough to keep it tidy. Intense resentment towards Girlfriend bubbles under the surface, but these ill feelings are a consequence of Girlfriend’s past mistakes more than they are of her inability to clean up after herself.
This is a role that requires a wide emotional range. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate strong comedic delivery / timing whilst also being able to deliver on intense, emotional moments. The role requires excellent chemistry, energy and reciprocity between the two leads. No kissing or intimate scenes are required for the role.
The script is dialogue intensive and the shooting time tight, so we are looking for someone who can memorise lines quickly and effectively.
Shooting will take place at a single location in Orpington, Greater London (Southeast). Our shooting days are on Sat 29 - Sun 30 Jan (to be confirmed).
This is a paid role. Food and travel will also be expensed / provided.
