Theatre Royal Bath’s Creative Learning department co-produce and deliver a course for sixth form students in collaboration with Bath College. Bath Theatre Academy is a trailblazing creative education initiative. Drawing on 10+ years of the egg theatre’s creative endeavours, plus years of educational expertise from the college, our collaboration strives to create the optimum conditions for art and learning to thrive.

We are looking for a competent volunteer actor to join our vibrant company of trainee theatremakers in their Winter Season production: Spring Awakening. The actor will be playing all of the male adults in a world otherwise dominated by teenagers, so we are looking to find a versatile performer, with a playing age of 40 – 60.

‘Adult Male’ plays nine separate parts, and is a chunky role for someone!

Singing ability is preferred, although the Adult parts have no solo sung lines.

The show contains swearing and some very dark themes, and the roles of the adults are fundamental to the demise of many of the characters. Further information of the roles and a copy of the script and music will be shared.

Dates

Rehearsals began on Tuesday 5 November 2019 and are held every Tuesday afternoon and Friday during term time until production week (full list of dates below).

We would negotiate with the actors which rehearsals were appropriate to attend, we do not anticipate needing the actor at every rehearsal.

We will schedule a full week of rehearsals w/c 20 January

Production week 27 January 2020

Performances 30 Jan, 31 Jan, 1 Feb 2020

We are meeting actors to read for this role next week.
