A short film thriller about two communication aid users stuck at home, running out of time with their technology in an apocalyptic situation.
Dear filmmakers,
This spring we are collaborating with The Shouting Mute c.i.c. for this years’ 'Easterseal's' disability challenge to make a short, thriller film for their annual competition. It is the biggest film festival of its kind, representing disabled filmmakers and actors in front and behind the screen and celebrating diversity.
The competition will be judged by some outstanding Hollywood industry professionals and industry heavy weights such as Adobe, Amazon Prime, Netflix, Sony , ARRI and established industry directors and producers.
The brief is secret and will be launched on the 1st April - 6th April. So you must be available for some of these dates.
And the genre is Thriller. Our two actors and writers have come up with a great concept already involving two main characters with using communication aids and powered wheelchairs involved in a sticky situation.
The competition rules permit that this is an an unpaid position but there are multiple cash prizes , equipment and industry mentorships available for winners within their specialisms. There is also an opportunity to meet the team with the potential of working again with us on our other paid short films, set for production later this year.
We are especially interested in hearing from disabled and neurodiverse filmmakers but we are open to all applicants. We prefer filmmakers based in Bournemouth and Poole and Dorset, but are open to filmmakers from across the south west (Including Bristol and Bath).
Please send us your expression of interest and a showreel of your work. The roles we are looking for are as followed:
Director of photography (own equipment preferred but not essential)
Camera assistant
Gaffer
Sound recordist (own equipment preferred but not essential)
Grip
Focus Puller (if needed)
We are looking for a production designer.
