A short documentary about the fragility of masculinity, and how much one will risk to keep it intact.
In October 2012, Greg Sumner was involved in a car crash which left two people dead and him paralysed from the neck down at the age of 22. His friend and driver chased a car of young boys, whilst under the influence and over a perceived slight, and crashed into an oncoming vehicle, killing the two drivers instantly.
The documentary explores Greg's journey from a place of violence, prejudice and obsession with machismo, to redemption, tolerance and a life free from the trappings of stifling expectations.
Looking for a confident sound designer for a short documentary exploring the themes of machismo, and it's questioning by a young man paralysed from the neck down as a result of drink fueled road rage.
We're really after someone with their own unique bank of sounds, as opposed to taken from the internet, and to approach the project with a creative understanding of how sound can further a story outside of the traditional diagetic approach.
The director is currently in Australia, so frequent correspondence via email will have to take place.
