Sarah is a dedicated working-class waitress at an upscale restaurant in the heart of London, England. The film unfolds during a single shift, juxtaposing the opulent dining hall with the gruelling kitchen where Sarah toils.
Kelly is an excitable young newstarter, who's just been accepted into a high end restaurant as a server. Such an exciting opportunity to really make her own place in the world. Though she still struggles with the complexities of such a job, and the hours can be rough, the customers rougher, she is optimistic, and does enjoy her job. Though it can be exhausting, she is still up to the challenge, and with such helpful colleagues, she’ll do okay. Empathetic, a little ditsy at times, well-meaning to her core.
