They (Chef 1) got this job because they didn’t go to uni, and didn’t really care to. They love nicotine, cigarettes are expensive, and their parents kicked them out, so rent is on the list as well. This is how they pay the bills, but they’re good at it. Good in a way they didn’t feel good at most things. The heat can get to them, the hours to, but it is what it is. No one was going to give them a free pass. They can be a little stuck up about that, and a little dismissive of people who do complain. But they do get some of the stress of it all, though they probably deal with more and don’t get the same appreciation. Servers especially, doesn’t matter if they deal with customers, if they tried to deal with the kitchen they’d implode. And they’re the ones who usually get it wrong, who they have to cover for. But its alright, at the end of the day they’re part of a team, and in the end the only real opposition is the people who buy this stuff. They’re always the ones who make everyone’s lives the hardest. Sarcastic, a little arrogant, mostly friendly.
