Set during one shift at a fine dining restaurant, working-class waitress Sarah explores the social class divide between her and the upper class.
This 10-minute short film explores the profound social class disparities that permeate British society.
Sarah is a dedicated working-class waitress at an upscale restaurant in the heart of London, England. The film unfolds during a single shift, juxtaposing the opulent dining hall with the gruelling kitchen where Sarah toils.
Peter is a metrosexual bar-tender, by choice, he would remind you. He might even say a mixologist, though that wouldn’t be entirely true. A little bit stuck up, Peter thoroughly enjoys the art of a good drink. He has opinions on every beer he’s ever tasted, watches sommelier videos in his free time, and has an at-home cocktail station he experiments with.
Though he can appear a little up himself, he is a good guy and cares a lot for the people he works with. Partly because they’re the only ones who’ll persistently listen to him. Regardless, he doesn’t accept the same flak his colleagues might. He would say he has more self-respect, but most recognise as a little less grace in customer service with those he dislikes—Flirtatious, perhaps a little insincere at times, but decent.
