This Project is an exploration into biomechanical creature sound and fictional ambience design.
This soundscape follows a space explorer who has crash landed on an alien planet and finds themselves in the middle of an unfamiliar ecosystem.
This project includes a large amount of Foley performance and editing, along with sound design that uses vocal samples to create the sounds of alien birds and monkey-like creatures. I used a text to speech voice as the automated ship AI which is initially inside the ship and then transfers to the explorers communication device.
The final encounter features roars made with granular based sound design and sourced hydraulic sounds along with the use of convolution reverb to give the impression of a massive, looming being.
My main focus for this project was to provide an immersive ambience that would aid in the storytelling of this soundscape, making sure each element would support the world building and creature design.
