Are you the Lady of the Lake?
Hi- we're Matt and Ben. Two independent filmmakers currently halfway through our third and most ambitious short film yet: Bad Fish.
While we would love to share full details of the plot with interested actors, for now, we can say that Bad Fish sits somewhere between psychological drama and abstract folklore. Enigmatic, intriguing and unsettling. It's driven as much by atmosphere as it is by the performances. Working closely with an accomplished and technically gifted camera person, we are very excited to release this film into the public consciousness.
Previous shorts by us have already appeared at film festivals and Bad Fish is set for an even broader festival run across the country.
This is where you come in.
We are currently seeking our ' Lady of the Lake', a character with a pivotal role in the film's final act.
She is the femme fatale of the tale and sets the fate of our lead characters in stone. Very iconic and cinematic imagery is associated with her.
The film contains no dialogue.
Would you be comfortable being filmed emerging from a coldish lake for your opening sequence? The remainder of your scenes will be filmed on dry land and the environment itself will be safe and controlled.
The successful actor would work closely with our costume designer called Daisy, in preparation for filming.
We anticipate that this will be 2- 3 weekends of filming in total. We are aiming to complete this work this spring, with some definite weekends in May planned.
