Wanted

Editor/ Sound Mixer/ Colourist/ Sound Editor

In return for:

Collaboration (unpaid)

Although this is currently an unpaid collaboration, I’m committed to making the project worthwhile for everyone involved. In return, you’ll receive full editing credit on the film, the opportunity to work on an international short filmed between the UK and Australia, and a strong portfolio piece built from professionally shot footage. The goal is to submit the film to festivals in both countries, meaning your work will be seen in a festival environment and credited wherever the film screens. You’ll also have access to clips and sequences for your own showreel, and the chance to collaborate creatively on shaping the final film rather than simply executing a technical edit. I’m looking for an editor who wants to collaborate on shaping the pacing, tone, and comedic timing of the film, not just assemble footage, and I’m very open to editorial ideas so the edit becomes a true creative partnership. I’m also keen to build long-term relationships with collaborators for future projects that will be developed with funding and paid positions.

Duration:

25 days

These days are negotiable and can be spread over the months leading up until June, happy to discuss once editor sees how much we filmed and how long they predict it to take.

Location:

Based in Bristol, United Kingdom

I’m currently looking for an editor to collaborate on a 15–20 minute crime/comedy short film that was recently filmed in Australia with a professional cast and crew of 25 people.

The project was shot on Blackmagic and Canon cinema cameras, with around 8TB of footage, and the goal is to shape the film into something strong enough for a film festival run in both the UK and Australia.

Because the project was produced at a high level, I’m looking for an editor who is excited about crafting the story, pacing, and comedic timing to help bring the film to its full potential.

While this is currently an unpaid collaboration, it’s a great opportunity to:

  • Work with professionally shot footage
  • Take creative ownership of a festival-aimed short film
  • Showcase your editing style, pacing, and storytelling ability
  • Build a strong portfolio piece

The aim is to have the film completed by June.
