Matthew joined the Bristol School of Acting after co-creating and running Pace University’s BFA in Acting for Film Television Voiceover & Commercials program in New York City. Launched in 2013, the FTVC program was the first of its kind to focus on the camera and microphone mediums and to challenge and change the status quo of traditional actor training.Matthew is a working actor whose recent television appearances include recurring roles on Billions and NCIS: New Orleans and guest star roles on Bull and Chicago Med. He starred in Bar Karma, Current TV’s experiment in scripted television, and was a series regular on HalfLife, a limited series currently airing on WhoHaHa. Other TV credits include Alpha House, Big Love, Elementary, Person of Interest, Blue Bloods, Allegiance, The Forgotten, Burn Notice, and Supernatural. Feature films include Obsessed, The Immigrant, Chapter 27, The Good Shepherd, and Altamont Now.
Matthew’s stage credits include The Vertical Hour with Julianne Moore and Bill Nighy (Broadway), Itamar Moses’ Outrage (Wilma Theater), The Seventh Monarch (Acorn Theater/42nd St), Man is Man (Prospect Theater), The Blue Room (Hangar Theater), It Pays to Advertise (Yale Rep), and You’ve Never Done Anything Unforgivable, a one-man show he co-created with director Brendan Hughes. At the South Coast Rep in Southern California, he starred in such productions as the world premiere of Lauren Gunderson’s Emile and workshops of Bill Cain’s How to Write a New Book for the Bible and Itamar Moses’ Completeness.
Matthew earned a BFA from Emerson College, a graduate certificate from LAMDA and an MFA from Yale School of Drama. He previously taught at Yale University’s Summer Acting Intensive and at Hollywood Arts, a Los Angeles-based homeless youth outreach program. He also volunteered with the Young Storytellers Foundation, a nonprofit that pairs working arts professionals with 11 year olds to write and perform the children’s own short screenplays. He is a proud member of the Actors Center in New York City.
