Tanzanian-American Qari, Scholar, and Researcher
Kumayl Alloo is a Tanzanian-American qāri', scholar, and researcher. A three-time national champion and world champion reciter, his accomplishments in several Qur'an competitions—coupled with his unique and melodious styles of recitation—have garnered both national and international acclaim. His academic research and interests span behavioral neuroscience, social psychology, Arabic linguistics, and Qur'anic sciences. He is currently affiliated with Columbia University in the City of New York, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and Université Hassan II de Casablanca (جامعة الحسن الثاني بالدار).
