Katy Ross (AKA Gobblynne) is a globe-trotting, dog-ruffling, dream-weaving illustrator and animator who excels at bringing characters, enchanting worlds and magical creatures to life. Her enchanting hands-on creative approach gives her work a charm and emotion that live action or rendered effects can’t always achieve.

Having completed her design degree in 2005, Katy has embarked on a creative journey that has seen her collaborate with a spectrum of local and international brands, ranging from industry giants like Sony, CBBC, Barclays, and Samsung, to smaller companies and nimble startups alike. 

As an independent filmmaker she has directed several shorts that have been officially selected for numerous major film and animation festivals, many winning awards and commendations. Beyond the festival circuit, Katy's artistic prowess has earned her accolades, including the prestigious "Best of British" recognition by Digital Arts, and the esteemed 4Talent award, championed by Channel 4, celebrating the best emerging creative talent from around the UK.

One of her standout achievements was visualising Dr. Brené Brown's TED talk on "The Power Of Empathy" for the RSA (watch here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Evwgu369Jw), which garnering over a million YouTube views in a week, and earned her the coveted honour of being an official honouree at the Webby Awards, as well as securing the Industry Awards at SheSays, and more. To date, this video has amassed an astonishing 40 million views across various online platforms, continuing to captivate and inspire viewers worldwide.

Her work has received recognition in the media, with features in publications like Ten4 Magazine, Digital Arts Magazine, Computer Arts Magazine, DPI magazine, and the Metro newspaper. Katy has also contributed articles on animation, published in Imagine Animation Magazine and on the D&AD website.

In 2015, Katy co-founded Superdoodle (www.superdoodle.co), a dynamic creative production company that boasts a talented ensemble of creatives. Katy continues to be hands-on with the artistic process while managing a diverse range of projects – from live drawing events in shopping centres to crafting captivating TV commercials and beyond.
