I’m Daisy Rigden, an aspiring floor runner. On the subject of floors, as a child I would sit on the living room one, right up against the TV, absorbing vastly different genres of film that my dad was watching. An immense passion for film and TV production grew, and all I knew about myself was that I wanted to be a part of it. My life would continue down this path, as my dad and I, would discuss cinema non-stop, sharing fascinating behind the scenes facts with each other, and relishing the thrill we got from viewing an encapsulating film. During my spare time, I would write my own scripts, performing them with puppets, and developed a keen eye for detail through photography. As an animated teenager, I naturally gravitated into acting as, for me, this was the only role I saw women taking up in the industry. From this, I gained vast knowledge and experience in film/TV and theatre production.
With my work experience, I have collated transferable skills that I can expertly utilise in my role as a floor runner. I am an energetic, hard-working, and organised individual, known for my patience, reliability, good sense of humour, and team-player attitude.
My on-set experience, includes work as a supporting artist on productions such as “Neighbours”, and volunteering as a floor runner on “Fear the Invisible Man”. I thrived in an on-set role, liaising with different departments, demonstrating my problem -solving, communication and adaptability in a fast- paced environment. I am unable to drive, however I have not found this to hinder me, as I travel easily to set by bike, public transport or rideshare. I am deeply committed to learning and developing within the film industry, eventually progressing into the assistant directing department, with my ultimate goal to be a writer/director.
