Cinematography has emerged as a calling, with Billy often commissioned as a self-shooting Director or Producer. Stories built around evocative lighting designs and out-of-the-ordinary tales act as inspiration for narrative work. As organised as he is creative, he finds solace and drive in moving image work.
Billy’s work in education includes bringing the acclaimed BFI Film Academy to Plymouth in 2017, he has helped hundreds of students make their way towards a prosperous future in the creative industries including placing students on James Bond: No Time to Die, Marvel’s Black Widow and HBO series.
Billy manages alternative rock band Haunt the Woods. His 2018 documentary ‘Our Growing Silence’ was picked up by the charity Music Venue Trust and screened nationally as part of their Pipeline Investment Fund campaign, subsequently resulting in a commissioned study into Plymouth’s grassroots music sector and nationwide campaigns on saving local venues.
