Alessandro is an award-winning composer from Italy who specializes in film/TV music, contemporary composition, and audio production. His music bridges established and contemporary practices to create new, original sonorities transcending traditional, confined musical genres and labels. His music plays with the unexpected as a powerful narrative source, creating a continuous sense of engagement with the listener through constantly evolving musical worlds and narratives.
He studied music at Trinity College Dublin, specialising in composition under Elis Czerniak and Evangelia Rigaki, and graduated with first-class honours in 2024. He is currently pursuing a Mst in Composition at the University of Oxford, studying with Prof. Martyn Harry.
He was elected Foundation Scholar in Music in Trinity Term 2022 and was awarded the Gerard Victory Composition Prize (2024), Geoffrey Singleton Prize (2024), Mahaffy Memorial Prize (2024), Steward and Prout Prize (2024) and Taylor Entrance Exhibition Award (2021).
Alessandro extensively works as a Film/TV composer. Recent works include a feature film (Nero, Prime Video), Domenica X Sempre (Masabi, Italy 2024), Shadows of My Father (short noir, Ireland, 2024), A Christmas Gift (nominated for best original score at the Dublin International Short Film and Music Festival, 2024). In 2023, he wrote the opening titles of the Champions of Made in Italy (a promotional campaign by Lega Serie A and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation). The same year, the Cannes Soundtrack Award selected two of his pieces for high–sync potential.
His compositions have been performed at festivals in Italy and Ireland. His String Quartet No. II "Digressions" won the 2024 West Cork Chamber Music Festival Composition Competition, and was premiered in Bantry, Ireland, on July 3rd 2024. Recent commissions include the permanent installation "The Ferdinando - Museum of Frontiers" in the Museum of Fort Bard (Italy, 2024), GuitaRIAM (2024), Fidelio Trio Winter Chamber Music Festival (Snapshots initiative, Ireland, 2023) and Sacred Music Festival (Italy, 2022).
As a guitarist, Alessandro holds two international performance awards —the National Performing Competition “Città Piove di Sacco” 2018 (III place, classical guitar duo) and the Best Students of Public and Private Schools Affiliated with the Vicenza Conservatory Award 2016 (III place, classical guitar quartet) – and has an extensive performance record around Italy and Ireland.
He co-founded MoonTalk with Jack Richard Walsh, with whom he co-writes and produces the duo's repertoire.
